Salthill experiences significant seasonal fluctuations in waste generation, particularly during the summer months. The increased volume of waste, especially plastic, poses a serious environmental threat. This affects both marine ecosystems and local biodiversity. Through this study we would like to assess the socio-environmental impact of waste disposal during the high peak season in Salthill and surrounding areas and engage with local communities to understand behavioral changes, use and importance of the local area and create temporary innovative and sustainable solutions for improving overall waste management during the summer season.
