Who are we?

Galway Beach Cleaners is a passionate, community-driven initiative dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of Galway’s iconic coastline. Oragnised by Riley Kearl and supported by locals who share a deep love for the Atlantic, we bridge the gap between environmental activism and community spirit, ensuring our shores remain vibrant and healthy for generations to come.

Galway’s coastline is a vital ecosystem and a cherished escape for residents and tourists alike. Marine litter doesn't just spoil the view; it threatens seabirds, marine life, and the very water we swim in. By coming together, we take direct action against the global plastic crisis right here at home.

 

What do we do?

We organise monthly, high-impact cleaning events across Galway’s diverse beaches—from the bustling promenade of Salthill to the hidden gems of Connemara. Our mission is simple: to remove marine litter, protect local biodiversity, and raise awareness about the impact of plastic pollution.
