Community & Culture
Sáile (Saltwater) Festival 2026
Our flagship multi-disciplinary event celebrating our "saltwater connection." Sáile brings together Irish filmmakers, scientists, artists, and local food producers for a weekend of immersion in ocean culture. Hosted between the University of Galway and the Claddagh, it is a hub for discussion, education, and celebration of the Atlantic’s influence on our lives.
People vs. Climate Change (Adult Workshop)
This is a space for radical hope. Moving beyond the headlines, this workshop invites adults to discuss sustainability through the lens of the future they actually want to see. We facilitate a collaborative visioning of a greener Galway, focusing on community resilience and what a sustainable lifestyle looks like in practice.

Coastal Safety & Stewardship
Marine Life & Water Safety Workshop
Designed for swimmers, surfers, and coastal explorers, this workshop bridges the gap between human safety and marine mammal protection. We provide practical guidance on how to enjoy Galway’s waters responsibly, ensuring safe distances from local seals and dolphins while equipping participants with essential water safety skills for the Atlantic coast.
Salthill Litter Solutions
Driven by the voices of the community, this project moves from data to action. Following an extensive study of Salthill residents' perspectives on waste, we are implementing hyper-local solutions to tackle litter. This is a community-led blueprint to keep our iconic promenade and beaches pristine for both people and wildlife.

Education & Youth Engagement
Primary School Workshops
Bringing the magic of the Atlantic into the classroom, these interactive, 2 hour sessions cover marine mammal biology, the changing chemistry of our oceans, and practical ways to reduce our carbon footprint. We empower students to move from climate anxiety to climate action through science and storytelling.
