Sáile Meitheal Mara

Join us for our Meitheal Mara to celebrate all the community who works with and for the ocean!

As a cornerstone event of the Sáile Festival 2026, Meitheal Mara brings together Galway’s vibrant coastal community, eco-innovators, and ocean advocates for an engaging day of connection, marine stewardship, and sustainability at the historic Galway Rowing Club on Woodquay.

Rooted in the Irish tradition of the meitheal—a collective effort where a community comes together to achieve a shared goal—this gathering transforms the Rowing Club’s waterside venue into a bustling showcase dedicated to protecting our marine environments and building a greener future. A taste of Sáile will be the way of local kitchens to showcase their food with low prices so everyone can taste a bit of everything!

Anplur, Solaris Tea and the Sáile restaurant from Spiddal will join us for the event!
